Fun Fact: The Minnehaha Steamboat Riders on the 26, 43, 51, 77 and 100 routes may notice the Minnehaha steamboat in either Excelsior or Wayzata. The Minnehaha was recovered from the bottom of Lake Minnetonka after spending over 50 years below the water. Built in 1906 to help residents travel quickly across the water to the city, the Minnehaha was intentionally sunk in 1926 after the automobile industry began to boom and the boat's services were no longer needed. Today, the steamboat runs Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Learn more |
