President's Volunteer Service Award
The mission of the Minnetonka Public Schools is, in part, to ensure all students envision and pursue their highest aspirations while serving the greater good. As future leaders and citizens, our students have a deep commitment to giving back to the community and serving the greater good. In recognition of this service, Minnetonka Public Schools is a certifying agent for the United States President's Volunteer Service Award program, designed to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to serve.

Students, parents, teachers, and other volunteers in the Minnetonka School District.

What are the requirements?
Volunteers record their service hours from activities completed at school, church and other places they serve from September 1 – August 31 each year. Hours are recorded on paper and/or in an online profile. Applications must be submitted by the end of the first week of school each year. Awards are presented at an Annual Celebration of Service event each November.
Based on hours, there are four award levels offered:
Bronze
Kids (up to 14 years old): 50-74 hours
Young adults (15-25 years old): 100-174 hours
Adults (26 years old and older): 100-249 hours
Families and groups: 200-499 hours
Silver
Kids: 75-99 hours
Young adults: 175-249 hours
Adults: 250-499 hours
Families and groups: 500-999 hours
Gold
Kids: 100 hours or more
Young Adults: 250 hours or more
Adults: 500 hours or more
Families and groups: 1,000 hours or more

Lifetime award for 4,000 hours or more
