Education and Social Work: A Team Approach

School Social Workers are a vital part of the total educational team of our schools. They work with teachers, administrators, counselors, psychologists, nurses and other staff. School Social Workers link home, school and community through the use of assessment, consultation, and coordination of services and referrals to community resources. School Social Workers are mental health professionals who help children and youth overcome barriers to success in school.
