The Autism Specialist is a licensed special educator who has advanced training, expertise and experience in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and whose role is to: 

• Participate as a member of the evaluation team on all students who show signs of having a disability in the area of autism spectrum disorder.
• Provide consultation, model teaching and training to administrators, parents and special education and regular education teachers of ASD students to help them understand and build a repertoire of intervention strategies
• Attend district, sub-regional and statewide training
• Disseminate resources, current best practices and research to parents and educators.
