Our elementary students are engaged as active learners in technology-enriched classrooms at Minnewashta Elementary.  All teachers are committed to differentiating instruction to meet children at their instructional level and inspire them toward their full potential.  Classroom teachers teach core subject areas using the following instructional materials:

• Language Arts: reading, writing, grammar, spelling, handwriting, speaking and listening
• Mathematics (Everyday Math)
• Science: hands-on kits bring science to life
• Social studies (History Alive!)
• Health (physical, mental and social) (The Great Body Shop)

Students also benefit from teacher specialists in:

• Art: explore creativity and problem solving through art history, art criticism, art production and aesthetics.
• Media and technology
• Music: general music for all students in grades K-5, strings (option) beginning in grade 4, band (option) beginning in grade 5
• Physical education

Families also have an option of Spanish Immersion beginning in Kindergarten.
