Family and Consumer Science classes offer the chance to explore the foods one eats, the clothing one wears, and the impression one makes. Classes provide instruction on spending money wisely and preparing for apartment living. Students will learn to get along with others, understand themselves, and gain parenting skills, which will provide them with the tools adults need to cope with today’s changing world. Family and Consumer Sciences helps to transfer reading, writing, and math to real life and helps students change with new technology and adjust to new lifestyles. These classes expand on the six subject areas within Family and Consumer Sciences to which students were exposed in the middle school and reflect students’ increased maturity and changing interests.
