Adapted Soccer CI/PIThere are two divisions: PI (physically
impaired) and CI (cognitively impaired). The team is cooperatively
sponsored between Minnetonka Public Schools
and Wayzata Public Schools and the mascot is the Lakers. CheerleadingThe cheerleading season runs May–March.
The Minnetonka Cheerleading Program challenges students
athletically, fosters self-confidence and promotes
teamwork and sportsmanship. The cheerleading squad
provides active support for and maintains interest in the
Minnetonka High School Athletic Program. Cross Country Running - BoysThe season lasts about 12 weeks, from
early August until early November. The team competes in about 12 meets including the regional meet and the state meet for those who qualify. Cross-Country Running - GirlsThe season lasts about 12 weeks, from mid-August to early November. The team competes in 10-12 meets, plus sectional and state meets. FootballThe season starts in early August with a total of eight games for each level. Approximately 70 freshmen, 60 sophomores, and 85 junior varsity and varsity players make up the total program. Soccer - BoysThe season runs from mid-August to early
November with up to 18 games and seasonal play-offs. There are four teams: freshmen, sophomore, junior varsity
and varsity with 80-90 participants and five coaches. Soccer - GirlsThe season runs from mid-August to early
November with up to 18 games as well as seasonal playoffs.
There are five teams: 9A, 9B, sophomore, junior
varsity reserves and varsity with 100-110 participants and
six coaches. Swim & Dive - GirlsPractice runs from mid-August to mid-November. The team consists of students in grades 7-12 who compete at the varsity or junior varsity level. There are two swim coaches and one diving coach. Tennis - GirlsPractice starts in mid-August, and runs about 10 weeks with 18 scrimmages and tournaments and a total of about 55 matches for the three teams. There are 45 players on the varsity and junior varsity teams, and 25 players on the B Squad with one coach for each team. VolleyballThe season runs from August-November. Players must attend tryouts the first week to be selected for a team.
About 50-60 students participate, 9-12 each on varsity, junior
varsity, 10th grade team and two ninth grade teams.

Adapted Floor Hockey CI/PIThere are two divisions: PI (physically
impaired) and CI (cognitively impaired). The team is
co-operatively sponsored by Minnetonka Public Schools
and Wayzata Public Schools and the mascot is the Lakers. Alpine Skiing - Boys/GirlsThe season starts the second week
of November with “Dryland” at MHS until the ski areas
have enough snow to ski. All ski practices are held at
Hyland Hills. Basketball - BoysThe season
runs for 18 weeks from early
November to mid-March.
Twenty-two games are played
as well as one holiday tournament.
Teams include freshmen
A and B, sophomore, junior
varsity and varsity. Basketball - GirlsThe season starts in early November and
ends in mid-March. Depending on the number of participants,
there are freshman A and B, sophomore, junior
varsity and varsity teams. Competition Dance TeamThe Minnetonka Competition Dance Team season runs from October through February. Varsity and Junior Varsity teams compete in both high kick and jazz throughout the winter season against other high schools throughout the state at conference meets and invitational tournaments. Team practices will be held daily after school throughout the season and on Saturdays. GymnasticsThe season starts mid-November and the
state tournament is at the end of February. The team participates
at both the varsity and junior varsity level in
conference, non-conference and invitational meets. Hockey - BoysThe boys’ hockey season begins mid-November and ends in March. Tryouts are conducted the first week and a total of 33 to 38 players are chosen to compete on the
junior varsity and varsity teams. Hockey - GirlsThe season runs from early November to late February and includes 25 games and a holiday tournament.
Tryouts are conducted the first week of November with
30-34 players chosen to compete on the junior varsity and
varsity teams. Nordic Skiing - Boys/GirlsThe season runs from mid-November
until mid-February and consists of six regular seasonal
meets, two in-conference scrimmages, a conference championship,
section championship and the state championship.
There are about 60 skiers in grades 9-12 at either the
varsity or junior varsity level with three coaches. Swim & Dive - BoysThe season runs approximately 14
weeks, December-March. Approximately 30 boys compete
at either the junior varsity or varsity level, with one diving
and two swim coaches. WrestlingThe season runs from mid-November until early
March. There is a combination of 21 dual meets and tournaments.
Matches are scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
and Saturday. The wrestling program has two teams, junior
varsity and varsity, and consists of 14 weights for each team.

the Lakers. BaseballThe season consists of 20 games as well as
playoffs. There are approximately 16-18 players on each of the teams—sophomore, junior varsity and varsity. Golf - BoysThe season runs from mid-March to the first of
June with varsity and junior varsity golfers participating in
16 matches. They also participate in several tournaments. A
total of 40-50 students try out; eight are kept on the varsity
team, 10-12 on the junior varsity team. Golf - GirlsThe season runs from mid-March to the first
week of June with 20-30 golfers, grades 9-12, competing
either on a junior varsity or varsity level in 11-16 matches
and several tournaments. Lacrosse - BoysThe boys’ lacrosse season runs from mid-
March to the end of May. There are two teams, varsity and
junior varsity, each consisting of 24 players. Lacrosse - GirlsGirls’ lacrosse combines aspects of basketball,
soccer and hockey with its own unique qualities.
There are up to 24 girls on three teams: varsity, junior varsity
and B team. Practice begins mid-March. The 12-game
season runs early April through a late-May Tournament. Softball - Girls' FastpitchThe season runs from early March
until mid-June. There are approximately 60 players in
grades 9-12, with five coaches. There are 16 games, including
tournaments. Track and Field - BoysThe season runs from the second week
in March to mid-June and has 14 meets, including regions
and state. There are 90-100 participants and no try-outs.
These participants include freshmen through seniors who
compete at either the varsity or junior varsity level. Track and Field - GirlsThe season runs from the second week
in March to mid-June and has 14 meets including sectional
and state meets. There are 140-150 participants competing
on either a junior varsity or varsity level with six coaches.
Practices are held at the high school track for two hours
right after school. Tennis - BoysThe season runs approximately 11 weeks with
20-25 matches, including 16 matches, scrimmages and
tournaments. The junior varsity and varsity teams have a
total of 30 players with one coach provided for each team.
