The Writing Center is staffed by two certified teachers, Maggie Shea and Kelly Bunte. In addition, trained student and adult writing coaches volunteer time in the Writing Center. For the 2011-12 school year, our roster includes 30 student coaches (11 seniors, 11 juniors, and 8 sophomores) and 12 adult coaches.
Maggie Shea, Writing Center Coordinator
Maggie taught English at Minnetonka High School way back in the late 1990s. She’s worked as a freelance writer and her work has been published in magazines and the Star Tribune. She earned her undergraduate degree at UW-Madison and her Masters in English Education from the University of Minnesota.
Maggie is on-site Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Kelly Bunte, Writing Center Assistant Coordinator
Since earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, Kelly's vocation has taken her many places. In addition to teaching Social Studies at Minnetonka High School, Kelly has taught Health Education in rural America and English Language Arts and History in South America. Most recently, she has been helping her 7-year old son author his first short story- “The war between the spiders and the ants.”
Kelly is on-site Mondays and Wednesdays.
