The middle school speech team is a preparation for high school speech and/or debate. Students orally present or dramatize literary texts including stories, speeches, dramas, poetry, or their own original piece. This is a competitive program where students compete against others from their own school or schools for ribbons or medals.
Organization:
Speech Team will meet in Room 149. Students will schedule a 20 minute meeting with the advisor each week to work on presentation skills and prep for meets. To begin with, three meets will be scheduled for competition with a possible fourth meet. The season will begin mid-November with an initial meeting and end in late February.
Transportation:
Students will travel with parent drivers or depending upon numbers, a small bus.
