The levy increase is caused by legislative changes in state funding formulas, increasing the actual cost of debt service which was held at an artificially low rate in prior years through refinancing of debt, and overall growth in enrollment (including the cost of implementing all-day kindergarten which counts all kindergarten students as 1.0 instead of .5 for enrollment).

Capturing their fourth state championship this year, MHS girls repeated as State Champions in Track and Field. Senior Mia Barron set two new records in Long Jump and Triple Jump. Senior Liz Endy captured the title in the 800 meter run and the 4x800 relay along with teammates Meghan Borowski, Lucy Hoelsscher and Meghan Janssen.
