Activities Opportunities at Minnetonka
At Minnetonka Public Schools, co-curricular activities are essential in delivering a world-class, child-centered education to all of the students we serve. Minnetonka is a strong believer in supporting activities that reinforce and enhance students' academics, rather than compete with them. Opportunities found beyond the classroom prepare students for life's challenges ahead. Participation in activities plays an important role in the academic, social, and emotional growth and development of students.
Our vision is to have every Minnetonka student participate on a team, club, enrichment group, or activity. Participating in co-curricular activities not only enhances academics, but helps to create smaller communities where students can find a sense of belonging and acceptance—both of which are essential for student performance and happiness.
Most importantly, we develop the idea of respect and good sportsmanship as the foundation of the Minnetonka activities culture. We expect respectful interaction between all people involves in Minnetonka activities—students, coaches, advisors, parents, spectators, and officials. As in any competitive activity with high expectations, conflicts are inevitable. We expect students, parents, fans, advisors, and coaches to use our conflict resolution process to address and issues that may arise.
